  • Detailed Explanation: We’ve recently withdrawed Epoch 4 funds (August 7), and they remain in our safe multisig to be spent in the cohort dev streams (to work on planned milestones).

Plans for Next Epoch

Education

  • Milestone 1:
    • Description: Add medium to hard curriculum to SpeedRunEthereum.
      Our new curriculum expands on the basics of smart contract development, offering advanced challenges across categories like General, Governance, DeFi, Wallets, Security, and NFTs. Introduces complex topics like token voting, DAO proposal execution, and rage quit mechanisms in governance. The curriculum aims to gamify the learning experience, guiding developers through a series of increasingly difficult challenges and rewarding their progress with onchain credentials. This approach provides a comprehensive, hands-on education in medium to advanced smart contract development, preparing developers for real-world blockchain applications.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Launch of an advanced smart contract curriculum that enhances developer expertise and rewards progress with onchain credentials.
    • Funding Needed: ~ 19 ETH
  • Milestone 2:
    • Description: Planned workshops of “Learn How To Build On Ethereum with SpeedRunEthereum and Scaffold-ETH 2” for the next 3 months. Buenos Aires (Argentina), Singapore, San Francisco, Bangkok (Thailand).
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Equip developers with practical skills to build dApps on Ethereum using Scaffold-ETH 2 and provide mentorship and support through SpeedRunEthereum challenges.
    • Funding Needed: 6 ETH
  • Milestone 3:
    • Description: Capture the Flag game for Devcon workshop.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Engage participants in a fun and challenging Capture the Flag game to test their solidity skills and encourage networking and community building among Ethereum developers.
    • Funding Needed: Scope not defined yet. Probably more than 6 ETH
  • Milestone 4:
    • Description: Planned Batches (Batch 8 and Batch 9).
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Encourage teamwork and collaboration among batch members, developing a group project, learning how to develop open-source projects, tackling issues and creating pull requests.
    • Funding Needed: 3 ETH

Tooling

  • Milestone 5:
    • Description: Set Foundry as default blockchain development framework for Scaffold-ETH 2 and migrate our current SpeedRunEthereum challenges to foundry.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Keep Scaffold-ETH 2 as an up-to-date toolkit with the latest blockchain development trends and maintain our SRE curriculum updated with the Scaffold-ETH 2 tech stack.
    • Funding Needed: 4 ETH. Partialy funded by another grant (2 ETH).
  • Milestone 6:
    • Description: Add automated testing to Scaffold-ETH 2.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Setup an automated testing workflow in Scaffold-ETH 2 / create-eth, to improve quality assurance of our toolkit and the projects built with it.
    • Funding Needed: 6 ETH
  • Milestone 7:
    • Description: BuidlGuidl eth Client development and global eth nodes distribution to underserved regions.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Enhance network functionality in underserved regions by providing pre-synced nodes equipped with custom open-source utilities for configuration, monitoring, and operation.
    • Funding Needed: Funded by another grant but we could use extra ETH for hardware scholarships.

    • Description: Hosting SE-2 Extensions Hackathon.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Successfully organize the hackathon and get users to start building with SE-2 extensions.
    • Funding Needed: Funded by another grant
  • Milestone 9:
    • Description: Hackathon prizes (next 3 months). ETH Accra, ETH San Francisco, ETH Rome.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Help with hackathon granting, fostering innovation and community engagement in blockchain development.
    • Funding Needed: ~5 ETH
  • Milestone 10:
    • Description: Community Grants for the next 3 months.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Promote innovation and fund development and contributions to the Ethereum ecosystem from promising new BuidlGuidl members.
    • Funding Needed: 4 ETH.

Branding

  • Milestone 11:

    • Description: Update buidlguidl.com to accurately reflect products, projects, owners, and mercs of BuidlGuidl.
    • Expected Immediate Outcome: Provide our guild and stakeholders an accurate, up-to-date representation of BuidlGuidl current state, initiatives, and value proposition.
