Project Description: Citizen Wallet offers communities and events the Web3 tools they need to easily launch, use and manage community tokens using a mobile app and NFC wallets. We develop real-world projects that use web3 infrastructure to support the common good.

Budget Breakdown

Milestone 1: $15k - Making the launch of a token and community completely self-service

  • Expected Outcome: New communities will be able to easily launch and manage new community tokens that are integrated into the Citizen Wallet app.

Milestone 2: $20k - Launch key plugins for our existing communities

We plan to focus on the following features for the wallet application:

  • A community governance plugin: let communities integrate voting into their token economy.
    - NFC card linking: easily link our NFC wallet solution to your mobile wallet.

  • Expected Outcome:
    Voting functionality should be deployed in the Breadchain community. NFC card linking will be deployed in the Brussels Pay community to let merchants easily accept payment in stablecoins.

  • Integration of these features in at least two active communities (Breadchain and Brussels Pay)

The anticipated outcomes from our project include:

  • Growing our monthly active user base by 50% through improved onboarding and user experience
  • Increasing community engagement with a target of 30% of users participating in governance decisions in Breadchain.
  • Expanding merchant adoption in the Brussels Pay network to 50+ local businesses
  • Building a developer community with 5+ external contributors to our open-source repositories
  • Increased adoption metrics with a target of onboarding 3-5 new communities within 6 months
  • Complete self-service token launch functionality enabling new communities to create and manage their tokens independently

Citizen Wallet empowers communities with self-sovereign control over their token economies, allowing them to operate independently of traditional financial systems. Our platform implements strong privacy measures by default, ensuring user data remains protected and under their control. We utilize open-source development practices, making our code transparent and auditable by anyone. The platform enables direct peer-to-peer transactions without intermediaries, reducing dependency on centralized payment systems. Communities can customize their token parameters and governance rules, promoting financial autonomy and democratic decision-making. Our NFC wallet solution provides privacy-preserving physical payments without requiring personal data exposure. We maintain strict data minimization principles, collecting only essential information for platform functionality.
