Redprint : toolkit, an interactive code generator and a dev framework to modify & deploy OPStack 's contract

Project Description:

Redprint Toolkit (https://redprint.ninja/) is an 100% open source toolkit. It includes:

  • redprint-forge , a developer-friendly library in solidity to modify & deploy OPStack ’s contracts in a modular style
  • Redprint wizard is a code generator/ interactive developer playground. It supports a space to build features that either lie far along ether Optimism or Ethereum 's roadmaps which aren’t yet available

Public Repository:

Budget Breakdown
Milestone 1: [$5000 / Publish v1.0.0 of redprint-forge package]

  • Expected Outcome: [User will be able to deploy all of OPStack ’s contract components end to end]

Milestone 2: [$5000 / Publish v1.0.0 of Redprint Wizard Package]

  • Expected Outcome: [User will be able to walk through and customize OPStack ’s contract components via our interactive code generator]

Milestone 3: [$5000 / Add OPStack’s interoperability directory]

  • Expected Outcome: [User will be able to reference to different OPStack ’s contracts for different l2 in super chain ecosystem]

Impact Measurement and Reporting

Inputs > Activities > Outputs > Outcomes > Long Term Impact

Short-term Outcomes (0-3 months):

  • Developer will be easily access and deploy OPStack, using Redprint toolkit

Mid-term Outcomes (3-6+ months):

  • Redprint will become open developer-focused community and learning hub for OPStack Developer

Long-term Impact (5+ years):

  • Our long term vision is to align with Ethereum’s Roll-up centric vision to scale Ethereum by bringing the execution of different layer 2 out of the Ethereum layer. It is not only Ethereum infrastructure‘s job to scale the ecosystem, but it is also commitment for roll-up/ App-chain developer to experiment new features that Ethereum hasn’t focused before.

Outcomes Measurement:

  1. Redprint Wizard
    The key metrics are:

  2. Feedback/ Testimonials

  3. Number of Monthly Visitor

  4. Number of Link Clicks Toward the Code copy button

  5. Number of Downloaded code as zip file

  6. Redprint-forge
    The key metrics are:

  7. Number of Github repo likes

  8. Number of code repo forks

The relevant sources of truth are at Impacts & Metric Hub

Interim Reporting

Regular Updates:

Half yearly

Milestone Verification:

  • I will setup a Karma GAP project page and everything has been already included in Impacts & Metric Hub

Sustainability Plan

In 2024, we have secured recuring funding fro Optimism ’s RetroPGF in round 5 for OPStack/ dev tool category. In 2025, dev tool , according to OP’s mission, is still a main focus , and we expect to continue contributing in this category.

Case Studies and Testimonials

We have collected some testimonials eg. wit03.eth: Founder @RetroPGF Hub . More can be found at Impacts & Metric Hub

Gathering Feedback:

Showcasing Success:

  • We have already crearted published a page called “metric hub” Impacts & Metric Hub
It includes testimonials and metrics. We plan to include all relevant reports and technical blogs there.

Advancing Values of Freedom and Privacy

We advancing value of freedom, we are 100% opensouce, including both front-end and smart contract lib. Any developers have freedom to fork and build whatever they want

Supporting Decentralization

Problem Statement + Context
Some text copied from OPStack ‘s design- 52

“The current L2 chain deployment approach originates from a time with Hardhat, single L1 target, and a single monolithic set of features. Since then the system has migrated to Foundry and extended for more features, but remains centered around a single monolithic deploy-config for all its features.
Outside of interop, deployment also seems increasingly complex and opaque, while it does not have to be, due to the same configuration and composability troubles.”

Our solution involves restructuring OPStack’s DeploySuperchain.

You can see how ‘redprint-forge’ lib tackles the problem by simplifying deployment and testing pipeline at this Demo

Therefore, this suggests Decentralization support due to different deployer implementations by different team.

Team Information

  1. Rati Montreewat (Lead Blockchain Engineer/Architect), proficient in smart contract development/EVM/security

He has also previously worked with Optimism Collective by being a grant recipient by building Solid-Grinder, a gas optimization CLI tailored to Optimism. (GitHub - Ratimon/solid-grinder: A 100% opensource CLI that goes along with building blocks of smart contract. This toolbox can reduce L2 gas cost by encoding calldata for dApps development to use as little bytes of calldata as possible.)

  1. Thanat Srithongin (Blockchain Engineer), proficient in full stack dApp development. He has experience in full-stack dApp development in DeFi platform before.

Social Proof

Our project has been endorsed by Optimism Collective ,and has generated positive impact to the ecosystem as detailed in RetroPGF Hub

Transparency

Our internal procedure is to transfer any funding on-chain / sell on CEX to pay wages / other, which is primarily used to pay salaries of our employees.
