Epoch projects requesting funding for ongoing grants + Optimism tools

Hi all!

As I’ve been going through project updates, I’ve been observing two factors that I don’t necessarily think bring value to Octant or to our goals of furthering a more open internet, etc etc re funding.

  1. Project funding goals involving grants completion for RFPs or projects for other L2s.
  2. Voting tools for other L2s voters (or ecosystem-specific voter usage)

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with building tools for L2s of course, BUT when these are only for usage, and specifically governance usage such as Optimism RPGF voting tools or part of Arb RFPs, it’s a bit odd to be listing it as part of goals for funding from Octant.

Thoughts?

Can you say more about why you think this doesn’t fit into Octant’s vision for what should be funded? It sounds like you are touching on tools/features being build for a L2 without clear intent/description of how these features will be rolled out to other ecosystems. Thus siloing governance features.
