Empowering Localized Impact through ReFi Local Nodes
At the heart of ReFi DAO is the ReFi Local Node Network—a decentralized network of communities that implement localized environmental and social regeneration initiatives. To date, ReFi DAO has allocated over $100,000 to Local Nodes worldwide, prioritizing marginalized and underserved regions. This investment has enabled the establishment of 30+ Local Nodes, directly benefiting thousands of people by improving economic opportunities and supporting sustainable development.
Scaling Public Goods for Regeneration
In 2025, ReFi DAO is set to launch ReFi DAO 2.0, an ambitious initiative aimed at enhancing coordination, coherence, and collective capacity across the ecosystem. This next phase includes the development of advanced tools such as the Impact Data Commons, an updated Local ReFi Toolkit, and identity-building systems like the Prosperity Passport. By integrating robust governance frameworks and supporting decentralized communities globally, ReFi DAO aims to accelerate the transition toward a regenerative economy that benefits all.
Unlike traditional states, Network Nations are interwoven global network of communities with aligned values and a shared identity. They operate with principles of mutualism, collaboration, and distributed decision-making. ReFi DAO 2025 Milestones & Estimated Budget
Milestone 1: Regen Coordination Data Commons & Funding Program
In 2025, ReFi DAO will develop and pilot a new Impact Tracking and Measurement System, creating a scalable framework for collecting, verifying, and sharing impact data across the ReFi DAO ecosystem and the broader Regen Coordination network. By leveraging the Common Impact Data Standard (CIDS) and integrating Web3 tools such as Hypercerts, Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS), and Karma GAP, this initiative will enhance impact reporting and transparency. Collaborations with organizations like MetaGov and DAOStar aim to position this as a DAOIP standard, embedding it into the Web3 ecosystem.
In Q1, ReFi DAO will launch a pilot cohort of 10–15 projects, including Local Nodes, GreenPill Chapters, and bioregional initiatives, supported by $60,000 (already secured) in retroactive rewards and impact purchasing. This will lay the foundations for transparent, data-driven coordination in the regenerative movement. If successful, we would aim to scale in H2 with an expanded cohort and seek additional funding of up to $100,000.

- Integration of CIDS with Web3 (~ $20,000): Adapt and enhance the CIDS framework by integrating Web3 tools like Hypercerts and EAS. This includes creating training materials, engaging stakeholders, and positioning the framework as a DAOIP standard to drive global adoption.
- Pilot Cohort Implementation (~ $10,000): Onboard and support 10–15 projects with workshops, training, and technical assistance to adopt the system. Allocate the secured $60,000 in retroactive rewards to incentivize strong participation and gather insights for scalability.
- Ongoing Research and Iteration (~ $10,000): Refine the framework based on pilot feedback, enhance scalability, and strengthen stakeholder partnerships. Prepare the system for a larger cohort in H2.
This initiative builds on existing tools and partnerships, ensuring efficient use of resources to drive meaningful impact across decentralized communities.
Milestone 2: New Local ReFi Toolkit
The ReFi Local Node Toolkit V1 has been pivotal in helping decentralized communities launch and scale regenerative finance initiatives. In 2025, ReFi DAO will enhance this resource into the Regen Coordination Local ReFi Toolkit, designed to serve not only the ReFi Local Node Network but also the broader Regen Coordination ecosystem. The updated toolkit will integrate contributions from allied networks, including GreenPill Local Chapters, Celo Regional Hubs, Open Civics, BioFi Project, Regens Unite and more, creating a shared repository of practical resources like playbooks, case studies, and graphic assets. This collaborative resource will empower decentralized communities, foster mutual learning, and accelerate innovation across the ReFi ecosystem.

- Core Design and Content Creation (~ $5,000): Develop and structure the enhanced toolkit with updated playbooks, case studies, guides, and graphic assets. Contributions from allied networks will ensure the content addresses the diverse needs of decentralized communities while remaining practical and actionable.
- Bounties Program for Community Contributions (~ $5,000): Launch a bounties program to incentivize community and expert contributions, including localized resources, translations, and refinements based on user feedback. This approach ensures the toolkit reflects diverse perspectives and meets the needs of global audiences.
The enhanced toolkit will strengthen community capacity and drive adoption of regenerative solutions globally.
Milestone 3: Support Launch and Development of Prosperity Passport
In 2025, ReFi DAO will continue its partnership with Celo Public Goods (CeloPG) to advance the Prosperity Passport, an innovative platform for on-chain identity and reputation within the ReFi movement. Launching in January 2025, the Prosperity Passport will feature the ReFi DAO Badge, an on-chain credential recognizing key contributors to ReFi DAO’s mission, including podcast guests, blog writers, event attendees, core stewards, and Local Node leaders. This milestone aims to establish the Prosperity Passport as a foundational tool for tracking contributions, building reputation systems, and fostering collaboration within the decentralized ReFi ecosystem.

- Product Management and Strategic Scoping (~ $5,000): ReFi DAO will guide the platform’s vision, design, and use-case development to ensure alignment with the evolving needs of the ReFi ecosystem. - Deployment and Expansion of ReFi Badges (~ $3,000): ReFi DAO will oversee the deployment of the ReFi DAO Badge while expanding the badge framework to include other ReFi projects, protocols, and communities such as EthicHub, Impactmarket, on-chain carbon initiatives, GreenPill and many more. This expansion will create a shared credential system, fostering collaboration, trust, and connectivity across the ReFi ecosystem.
- Workshops and Onboarding Resources (~ $2,000): To ensure widespread adoption, ReFi DAO will develop workshops and educational materials to onboard contributors and community members. These resources will simplify the onboarding process and maximize the Prosperity Passport’s reach and impact.
This milestone supports the Prosperity Passport’s launch and ongoing development, aligning it with the goals of the ReFi ecosystem while advancing decentralized identity and reputation systems.
Milestone 4: Launch and Roll-Out of ReFi DAO 2.0
The full launch of ReFi DAO 2.0 will be a transformative moment in scaling ReFi DAO’s impact and strengthening the regenerative finance ecosystem. This milestone will mark the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated suite of new resources, advanced tooling, and streamlined processes to empower the global ReFi community. Core initiatives include the integration of identity and reputation-building systems (e.g., Prosperity Passport), deployment of impact tracking frameworks (e.g., Regen Coordination Data Commons), and the creation of governance, organizational, and legal structures to enhance coherence, accountability, and long-term sustainability. - Core Steward Time, Payments, and Operational Costs (~ $30,000): This allocation will cover the time and payments for ReFi DAO’s core stewards to develop and implement foundational components of ReFi DAO 2.0. Deliverables include critical documentation, such as the ReFi DAO Constitution and Local Node Charter, integration of tooling and frameworks, and ensuring network-wide alignment. Operational expenses, such as platform subscriptions and logistical needs, will also be covered to ensure smooth implementation and scalability.
- Community Involvement and Bounties (~ $10,000): To foster active community participation, a bounties program will incentivize contributions such as refining governance structures, developing localized onboarding materials, and enhancing tooling. ReFi DAO Impact Measurement and Reporting
ReFi DAO’s impact can be defined as the measurable progress toward achieving our mission: leveraging Web3 technologies to foster a regenerative economy that prioritizes ecological restoration, community empowerment, and decentralized financial inclusion.
To achieve this, ReFi DAO is developing it’s version of the Common Impact Data Standard (CIDS), a comprehensive framework that will guide how outcomes, indicators, and activities are assessed across our ecosystem.

- Goal: Strengthen decentralized communities to lead regenerative initiatives tailored to local contexts.
- Indicators: Number of active Local Nodes; regional diversity; resilience (e.g., longevity and sustainability); number and impact of community projects (e.g., workshops, restoration efforts).
2. Awareness, Development, and Adoption of Web3 & ReFi
- Goal: Facilitate the growth and adoption of decentralized tools and regenerative finance solutions globally.
- Indicators: Number of individuals onboarded to ReFi/Web3 tools; workshops/events hosted; on-chain metrics (e.g., TVL, transaction volume); community engagement in governance and funding programs.
3. Creation and Impact of Public Goods
- Goal: Provide accessible tools, knowledge, and frameworks that drive ReFi innovation.
- Indicators: Number of public goods created (e.g., toolkits, blog posts, podcasts); reach and usage metrics (e.g., downloads, views); user feedback on relevance and usability.
4. Environmental and Social Impact:
- Goal: Catalyze measurable ecological restoration and social well-being improvements.
- Indicators: Metrics such as carbon reductions, biodiversity restoration, land reforested; improvements in local livelihoods and access to sustainable resources.

We also recognize the need to expand our current framework for measuring impact and are committed to building a comprehensive Impact Tracking and Measurement System as one of our core milestones for 2025. This initiative will enable ReFi DAO to systematically capture and report outcomes, indicators, and activities across its global network of Local Nodes, events, and public goods, providing a robust foundation for assessing and amplifying its contributions to the ReFi movement.
