Project Description
The Greenpill Dev Guild is a community of regenerative builders focused on advancing regen space by building decentralized public goods that empower Greenpill Chapters and the broader community.
Public Repository
Budget Breakdown
Funding Requested: 60,000$ / ETH
- Green Goods: We are requesting $20,000 / ETH for the final development phase, data collection, and executing the pilot in Rio Claro, Brazil.
- Impact Reef: We are seeking $10,000 / ETH to refine the alpha version, integrate user feedback, and launch the beta.
- Greenpill Commons: $10,000 / ETH is needed to complete the platform, conduct user testing, and engage the community.
- Operations & Team Growth: $20,000 / ETH to sustain weekly meetings, support workstreams, and compensate the core team across various functions, including community, product development, and business development.
Plans should you fall below, reach or exceed funding goals:
If we fall below our funding goal, we will focus on core functionality, minimize design expenses, seek additional funding from other sources, and refrain from initiating new projects. If we reach our goal, we will stay focused on completing the outlined milestones and concentrate on the work ahead. Should we exceed our funding goal, we will save a portion of the excess funds in our treasury and allocate some to fund partnerships and provide additional compensation to our builders.
Impact Measurement and Reporting
Inputs > Activities > Outputs > Outcomes > Long Term Impact
Short-term Outcomes (0-3 months):
In the short term, we expect to achieve several immediate results, including the launch of the Green Goods MVP on Arbitrum and Impact Reef MVP on Optimism. We also plan to allocate more funds to regenerative games during this period.
Mid-term Outcomes (3-6+ months):
We anticipate completing the pilot of Green Goods and expanding our community to multiple gardens. We also aim to broaden the scope of Impact Reef, integrating it into a larger public goods ecosystem and onboarding additional projects. Furthermore, we will grow the Dev Guild to facilitate more learning opportunities for builders and support strategic partnerships.
Long-term Impact (5+ years):
Our vision is to generalize Green Goods into a platform that accommodates various forms of capital, including living, spiritual, and material. We aspire with Impact Reef to create a standard methodology for measuring qualitative input in public good projects. We plan to continue growing our community and building tools that support chapters in maximizing impact, allocation, and coordination.
Outcomes Measurement:
- Code Commits: Tracking the number and frequency of code commits in our repositories will provide insight into our development progress.
- App Deployments: We will measure the success of our deployments by monitoring the performance and adoption of our applications.
- Attestations Made: The number of attestations created for Green Goods and Impact Reef will serve as a key indicator of community engagement and project impact.
- Tokens Minted: We will track the minting of tokens associated with our projects to gauge the level of user interaction and participation.
- Endorsements on Karma Gap: Community and peer endorsements on Karma Gap will reflect the credibility and support our projects receive.
- Community Polls: We will conduct polls on Telegram, Discord, and WhatsApp to gather feedback and measure community sentiment.
- Social Media Mentions: The frequency and reach of social media posts mentioning the Dev Guild on Twitter and Farcaster will help us assess our visibility and influence in the ecosystem.
Interim Reporting
Regular Updates:
To ensure transparency and keep all stakeholders informed, we plan to provide consistent and timely updates on our project’s progress. These updates will be shared across Twitter, Telegram Discord, and Farcaster to reach our community effectively.
- Monthly: We will post updates on our Dev Guild forum and eventually on Mirror/Paragraph to highlight the month’s progress and upcoming milestones.
- Quarterly: We will provide a more comprehensive overview of our activities and developments on the Greenpill Network, ensuring that our broader community remains engaged and informed.
Milestone Verification:
We will use a variety of methods based on the platforms we use to validate that our deliverables are met and to showcase our progress to stakeholders.
- Karma Gap Impact Reports: We will generate detailed reports through Karma Gap to document our impact and progress.
- Contract Deployments: Successful deployment of smart contracts for Green Goods will be a key indicator of our technical milestones.
- Attestation Creation: We will create attestations for both Green Goods and Impact Reef as part of our milestone achievements.
- App Deployments: The successful deployment of our applications at greengoods.app and impactreef.app will serve as verification of key project deliverables.
- Social Proof: Growth and engagement within our community will be evidenced through social media activity on platforms like Twitter and Farcaster.
Sustainability Plan
We have identified several strategies to ensure that our project remains viable and continues to grow with an initial focus on Grants to fuel premium features and onchain revenue.
- Grants: We will continue to seek grant funding to support our initiatives while maintaining a lean and efficient team structure.
- Premium Features: Developing premium features within our products, which users can access through subscription models, will provide a recurring revenue stream.
- Onchain Revenue: We plan to establish on-chain revenue models tied to specific user actions, ensuring that our ecosystem can self-sustain financially.
- Strategic Partnerships: We will forge partnerships with established non-profits and DAOs that align with our values and can provide additional support and resources.
Case Studies and Testimonials
Gathering Feedback:
We will actively engage with our community and stakeholders to gather insights that will help us refine our products and partnerships.
- Community Forum : We will use our forum on Charmverse to facilitate discussions and gather feedback from our community.
- WhatsApp and In-app Feedback : For Green Goods, feedback will be collected directly from gardeners via WhatsApp and in-app feedback mechanisms.
- Workshops for Impact Reef : We will conduct workshops and incorporate in-app feedback tools to gather user input and suggestions for Impact Reef.
- Social Sharing by Chapters : Greenpill chapters will be encouraged to share their feedback and the impact of the Guild on their social media platforms and forums.
Showcasing Success:
- Social Media Posts : We will regularly post updates and success stories on our Twitter account and Farcaster channel.
- Formal Reports: Detailed reports and updates will be published on the Greenpill hub and our Dev Guild forum, providing a comprehensive overview of our achievements.
- Blog Posts : We will create in-depth blog posts on Mirror/Paragraph that highlight our milestones, case studies, and testimonials, showcasing the impact of our work.
Advancing Values of Freedom and Privacy
Our projects advance the values of freedom and privacy by building strong on-chain primitives centered around impact and coordination. This enables communities to easily bring their value on-chain and be rewarded for the value they create. Additionally, our tech stack prioritizes privacy by storing no Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and relying solely on on-chain data as the source of truth.
Supporting Decentralization
We support decentralization by building a decentralized community within the Dev Guild, creating projects with decentralized governance structures, and assisting the Greenpill Network in defining its decentralized structure with attestations, tokens and allocation mechanisms.
